Harvest Day Home School

Thursday, Nov.3-My dear sister organized a wonderful educational day that we all loved.  We started off with leaf identification in the neighborhood.  A gingko tree and sycamore (with it's round prickly seed pod) were hits.  We went home and did a drawing and painting leaf project, then Dr. Bell held science in the kitchen.  Did experiements on what absorbs faster into the system flour or sugar.  Discussed differences between long and short intestines, kidney and liver.  We painted pumpkins in the backyard and everyone's favorite was a creative writing project about a bat.  Everyone's was so different.  The girls were extremely motivated andtook several days  to complete their long stories.  We all enjoyed hearing everyone read their bat stories a few nights later at dinner.  We also had a fun sing along.  Stefan on tpt and Arthur on guitar were a  hit.  We have had such a wonderful time here with family.  Sure wished we lived closer.  We love you all and appreciate you putting us up for 10 days.  We will cherish our wonderful memories with you!
